Recorded live at Chenrezig Institute - Easter 2012.
The Heart Sutra is one of the most famous and revered texts in all of the Buddhist scriptures. In the style of a brief conversation between two of Buddha's most notable disciples, Avalokiteshvara and Shariputra, the truth of emptiness is gently revealed.
Because of its brevity and profundity, the Heart Sutra is often recited as an effective means for accumulating wisdom and dispelling hindrances to spiritual endeavours. Even a rough understanding of emptiness is helpful in reducing our afflictive emotions and achieving the wisdom eye of what to adopt and what to discard, making our life more peaceful and meaningful, and providing a foundation for reaching enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings.
These teachings were delivered by Geshe Jamyang over the Easter long weekend in 2012, this is a live recording captured in the Gompa at Chenrezig Institute.
To prepare students for the teachings, Geshe-la taught 4 sessions leading up to Easter on Grounds and Paths, also available online here http://archive.org/details/GesheLobsangJamyang-AnIntroductionToGroundsAndPaths
